Create new Test Case

I'd like a button that creates a new test case.

Even if it just defaulted to the default area\iteration and wasn't added to some test suite.

I'd just like to have a way to create a new test case with your tool. Then I can add the test steps quickly.

Hi Allen,

I like the idea. One thing will be necessary to ensure this function works for all users - a definition of what initial fields to set when creating the test case. Defaulting to the top-level Area and Iteration will work but many users will have additional custom/required fields that must be set to save the test case. My first thought is to allow these to be defined in the app.config file, how does that sound? Another option would be to allow selection of a Work Item Template (defined using the TFS Power Tool) in the Test Steps Editor GUI itself. What do you think?

The app.config file sounds like a completely reasonable and easy solution.

In an ideal world it would be great to be able to use a specified work item type that looks & works just like the one in Visual Studio, except the test steps control is replaced with your Test Steps Editor.

Of course I understand this would be a lot more work :-)
